Sustainable mixed urban extension reflecting the local character of Aylesbury

The new development at Fleet Marston will provide over 3,000 new homes, shops, a school, community space, doctors surgery, gym and recycling facilities. The designs reflect the local character of the area, express the multi-layered history of the site and provide a distinctive local character. At the heart of the site will be a central open space with a series of formal and informal landscapes. The scheme develops new thinking in transport-based development by linking Fleet Marston to the nearby railway and road intersections. Development will take place on both sides of the main trunk road, rather than adopting a conventional by-pass solution, and will be fully integrated with the surrounding landscape.
