This project was the winning design in a competition to redevelop a postwar housing site in central Rocester. The scheme provides forty-seven houses and four shops to regenerate the town centre. The design develops the central spaces of the town, creating a natural square with a small market cross to provide shelter and a community meeting place. The surrounding buildings all have careful variations in detail and size to give additional character, and reflect the local vernacular by using simple brick details such as arches, corbels, eaves dentils, timber windows and porches.
