Northcourt contains twelve new apartments within existing Victorian parkland, on the site of a gothic house by Decimus Burton that was destroyed by fire. The new building is in three distinct parts, recalling the form of the original building and creating the illusion of gradual evolution. The main house has the highest roofline with gables, decorative chimneys and a stairwell window extending over two storeys. The smaller secondary wing is modestly detailed to suggest a later extension and the service wing is even simpler, giving the appearance of servants quarters. The decorative treatment follows that of the original house with castellation, diapered brickwork and gothic headed arches.
