The South West Quadrant of Poundbury, on the outskirts of Dorchester on land owned by the Duchy of Cornwall, has 229 residential units and offices on a 4.8 hectare site. The apartments, terraced and detached houses are inspired by Regency architecture.

Working closely with the masterplanner Leon Krier, the co-ordinating designer Ben Pentreath, the Duchy of Cornwall and the two housebuilders, a coherent strategy for the new streets and a greater level of harmony between the buildings was produced. Simple detailing has produced elegant buildings constructed and finished to a high quality.
