The North East Quadrant is the next significant area of Poundbury to be developed. Consisting of some 500 dwellings, together with retail and commercial space, the site stretches from the Queen Mother Square at the heart of the development to the ancient Poundbury Hillfort to the North East. The buildings are a mix of classical and vernacular in style, drawing closely on local exemplars, with great attention placed on coherent composition of street scenes to ensure a logical and varied mix to the development as a whole.

Proposals for this area have been developed with George Saumarez Smith, Poundbury Masterplanner Leon Krier, Ben Pentreath, the developers and the Duchy of Cornwall, landscape designer and Fabrik
