Planning approval for new homes at Alderley Park, Cheshire
Cheshire East Council have approved plans for 74 prestigious family homes on the 400-acre site Alderley Park, submitted by property developer PH Homes and designed by ADAM Architecture director Robert Adam. Alderley Park, formerly the 400-acre estate of the Stanley family and most recently Cheshire headquarters of global pharmaceuticals giant AstraZeneca.
Robert Adam said, “I am delighted to have worked creatively with PH Homes and helped them further their commitment to design quality. Together we have created a variety of traditional homes with all the most modern facilities. Alderley Park is a great opportunity to make a place with its own distinctive character in a fine historic parkland setting.”
His designs for each bespoke classical house type combine spacious accommodation with individual style reflecting the quality and finish for which PH Homes are renowned. The properties, ranging from two-bedroom townhouses to six-bedroom villas, will be split into three distinct yet complementary developments: The Ride, with detached and semi-detached homes adjoining the cricket pitch, walled garden and mature trees; Cedar Square’s Georgian-style townhouses and semi-detached properties (shown here) arranged around a Lebanese Cedar tree; and The Serpentine, an eclectic mix of larger 6 bedroom villas which takes its name from the winding body of water which marks its southern boundary. The Alderley Park scheme also includes consent for a gastro-pub, farm shop and newly constructed sporting facilities including a gym, squash and tennis courts, while residents will also enjoy access to the estate parkland, woodland walks and the original listed walled gardens, arboretum, water garden and serpentine.
Managing Director of PH Homes Philip Hughes said, “We’re absolutely delighted and excited that our scheme for this exceptional site has met with full approval and we’re looking forward to launching the development in the next few months. It’s a truly unique opportunity and I can’t wait to get started!”
