RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT AT WESTERN HARBOUR, EDINBURGH
These three plots at the northern end of Western Harbour, Edinburgh, contain a mix of mews houses and apartments, arranged in a traditional urban block according to the approved masterplan by ADAM Architecture. The varied character of the design is created by combining robust vernacular forms with more ornate civic buildings and unified by the use of traditional materials and details as set out in the Design Codes of the Masterplan. A series of private and communal courtyards at the heart of the buildings lead into a larger network of open spaces with views through the wider site and out to the Firth of Forth beyond.
